Tips for Buying a Used Car
3 great tips when buying a used car
We understand that buying a used car is an important decision. Whether you are a parent purchasing a car for the school run or someone purchasing their first vehicle, finding the right car at the right price can take time.
We've put this blog together with 3 simple tips to help you make the right purchase for the right reasons. Here we go:
1. Understand the type of vehicle you need - what is it for?
This may seem a little obvious but the most important factor to think of is the purpose of the vehicle. Will you be doing being lots of motorway miles or will you be nipping around your local area picking up the kids from school and doing the shopping?
If you're nipping around your local area and doing lots of small trips then we'd recommend a small engine petrol car. If you're driving up and down the breadth of the country, doing mainly motorway miles then we'd recommend choosing a diesel with a decent sized engine.
Now that you've made the decision, draw up a shortlist of cars that fall into that category and start the process of finding the right car for you. Maybe you'll find them in our used car stocklist so click here to see if there's something for you.
2. Think about what you can afford - do you need finance
Now that you have an idea of the car you want you'll need to start thinking about how much you can afford. Whether you are paying upfront or via finance instalments, to avoid disappointment you need to have a clear idea of how much you can afford to pay.
If you're looking to take out finance on your used car then talk this through with who you're buying the car from and work out the best foot forward.
